Charles E. Long, Mayor

Charles E. Long has been Mayor of Booneville for over 50 years. He takes pride in the position and during his tenure has seen the installation of the Water and Sewer System in 1968. Since that time he has worked to see the water system extended to over 98% of Owsley County. This is a big accomplishment for the City of Booneville as Booneville Water and Sewer is the only water utility in the county. Mayor Long has also worked to see the sewage system expanded to over 400 residents in the county.

As Mayor, Mr. Long serves on many boards and committees including The Kentucky River Area Development District. The KRADD services 8 counties in Eastern Kentucky, which includes Wolfe, Lee, Owsley, Breathitt, Perry, Knott, Leslie, and Letcher Counties.
