Electricity
The Jackson Electric
Cooperative, a Touchstone Energy Cooperative serves Booneville
and Owsley County. Power is received from East Kentucky Power.
"A recent report generated by the Edison Electric Institute ranks Kentucky Utilities' rates as the lowest in the nation
for both residential and commercial sectors. The company's industrial rates rankes as the sixth-lowest nationwide."
"According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, Kentucky's average industrial rate for electricity per
kilowatt-hour is 2.9 cents, roughly 41 percent below the national average of 4.92 cents."

Water/Sewer
The Booneville Water and Sewer District serves Owsley County with a treatment capacity of 864,000 gallons per day.
It's source is the South Fork of the Kentucky River. Storage capacity is 1,060,000 gallons.
Sewer service is provided with a treatment capacity of 200,000 per day. Expansions to the sewer
capacity will occur in the near future.

Telephone
The People’s Rural Telephone Cooperative not only provides
telecommunications services within Owsley County, they are also dedicated to the community and economic development
efforts. They offer an affordable long-distance service, digital telephone services, DSL, and dial-up Internet services
as well as 256K and T1 broadband service. |

Gas
Propane services is currently available from Jackson Energy Cooperative,
Empire Gas, and Ferrell Gas.
Delta Gas Company can extend their
natural gas line to the Lone Oak Industrial Park if reqired by a company. |
